A blend of Rock\, Blues\, Jazz\, Country\, Bluegrass\, Funk\, and World Beat\, the Willy has been doing\nthe “Jam-Band” thing since there was barely a term. A set of KW is an eclectic and improvisatory boogieing blend of organic spontaneity that takes the audience on a journey through a ménage of sound and color\, space and time. Every show is unique. Every show is different. And every show brings an experience blended from the soulful and powerful delivery of well-crafted original music and choice covers. \nThe group boasts an all-star cast of seasoned musicians: \nDave “Chopper” Campbell\, guitar and vocals\, formerly of Dark Star Orchestra\, Dancing Earth Reunion (Blue Dixie)\, Haw Patch\nMountain Boys\, The Schwag\, and has also played with such greats as Rock founder and legend Chuck Berry\, Grammy winning artist Jim Lauderdale\, and Mike Gordon of Phish. \nBrian Jones\, bass\, Longtime friend and former Kerosene Willy bassist will be sitting in for this week’s show. \nJohn McBroom\, guitar and vocals\, formerly of Red Weather until 1999\, Blue Mule\, GOTE\, M.C. Broom & The Jam! Recently Leonard Blush\nand the Camelcals has taken a bit of John’s stage time\, and he has shared the stage with Keller Williams\, members of Leftover Salmon\, members of Big Daddy Love\, and Caitlin Krisko. \nTimbo Sims\, keyboardist\, performer\, and songwriter\, of The ThrillBillyz\, The Buck and Griz Show\, and M.C. Broom & The Jam! resides in Franklin County\, VA. Timbo is a founding member of the 90’s jam band Red Weather and has since been a part of a number of live\nperformances\, session recordings\, and musical projects. \nJason Tice\, on drums\, has been bringing the back beat to Southwest Virginia bands like Timewave Zero\, The Buck & Griz Show\, Flight One\, and Gary & the Brewers for the last 20 years. He’s a staple in the region and involved in a myriad of projects in the area.

The band has released a successful debut EP Hard Road\, an acclaimed worldwide top charting debut album Survival and their newest Dandy Shandy through the guidance of veteran drummer / lecturer Derrick Stewart\, veteran trumpeter Nambo Robinson\, guitarist / former tutor Maurice Gordon and producers Stephen Stewart and Sam Clayton. EarthKry are on a mission to voice the grievances of the downtrodden through the vibrations of their legacy music. This band brings originals plus excellent covers of Eric Clapton\, James McMurtry\, Mark Knopfler\, Southern Culture on the Skids and more! \nKeith Goggin – Guitar and Vocals\nKeith started playing guitar at the age of five and played his first paying gig at twelve. He was a\nvoice major in college and has played in numerous bands all over the country. He has opened a\ntour for the Charlie Daniels Band\, shared the stage with Jerry Lee Lewis\, the Boxtops\, and\nothers. He played on the college circuit for years with the South Star Band\, and in the New\nOrleans band Delacroix for eight years. For the last twenty years he has played in the Houston\,\nTexas bands The Levee Busters and Whiskey Brisket as well as doing solo acoustic work. Keith\nhas been working both on tours and in the studio on and off with California-based songwriter\nChristie McCarthy for nearly 30 years. Keith has also worked as a guitarist in the studio with\nmany artists.\nKeith’s main influences are all over the musical map\, from Eric Clapton to Doc Watson to\nMichael Hedges to James McMurtry to Mark Knopfler and most points in between. Keith’s\nshows typically cover quite a few genres\, and usually contain a surprise or two. As one listener\nput it\, “Keith is well known in both Houston\, TX and Southwest Virginia as one of the slickest\npickers around and a pretty gifted song-writer as well.” No matter whether it’s a solo show or a\nband gig\, we’re gonna have us a time! \nDan O’Donnell – Bass/Vocals\nDan O’Donnell (Dano) is a veteran bassist. He has played a wide variety of musical styles\nincluding rock\, soul\, country\, funk\, blues and more. He has performed and recorded with a wide\nrange of artists including Matt Ramsey of the award-winning Nashville country band Old\nDominion. Dano has also performed in opening acts for bands as diverse as the Red-Hot Chili\nPeppers and the legendary Nighthawks. Based in Southwest Virginia\, he has held down the low\nend for the popular blues bands The Fat Daddy Band and Little Rodger and the Cheap Thrills\, as\nwell as the Motown classic soul / variety band Heat of the Night.\nDano lists his main bass influences as Donald “Duck” Dunn (Blues Brothers\, Booker T and the\nMG’s)\, James Jamerson (Motown) and Leland Sklar (James Taylor\, Lyle Lovett\, Phil Collins\,\netc.). He has studied at Victor Wooten’s Bass Nature camp where he participated in master\nclasses led by some of the world’s finest bassists including Victor Wooten\, Chuck Rainey\,\nGerald Veasley\, Oteil Burbridge and Steve Bailey among others. \nKeith Chinault – Drums/Vocals\nKeith has been playing and singing in bands for over 40 years. Primarily laying down the back\nbeat in Blues bands\, Keith can also adapt to many styles of music\, from Funk to Country\, to\nRock\, etc..

Born out of a love for blues\, Rock & Roll\, honky tonk country\, rockabilly\, and other classic American music\, Ian Gilliam & The FireKings have evolved into a group that will undoubtedly surprise listeners of all ages and musical tastes. With an intoxicating mix of danceable tunes and musically captivating moments\, The Firekings have become one of the region’s favorite acts for all types of audiences. \nIan Gilliam – Guitar and Vocals\nIan began playing guitar at a young age and like many guitarists\, focused on blues music early in his career. After seeing virtuoso Danny Gatton perform live at age 15\, it was clear that there was much more to be explored. Gatton approached a 19-year-old Ian with an offer to produce a studio recording for him. Danny’s rigorous touring schedule prevented this from happening immediately\, and his passing a few months later meant the collaboration would never take place. For the 30 years since\, Ian has continued to expand his horizons with the instrument\, delving into different musical styles which he has worked into The FireKings’ performances. Ian is also the main vocalist in the band and delivers each song\, cover or original\, with genuine feel. \nCharlie Bell – Pedal Steel and Vocal\nWith deep roots in classic country\, bluegrass\, and Rock & Roll\, Charlie controls the elusive pedal steel with absolute confidence. His extensive knowledge of the instrument allows him to layer his parts into the songs and really step out on his solos\, to the pleasure of musicians and non-musicians in the audience. Whether playing an old country tune or adapting the instrument to blues or rock\, Charlie’s playing adds something not often heard from a pedal steel player. Charlie is an extremely well-rounded musician who can fit into any setting and his versatility shines in The FireKings. Charlie also lends his fantastic harmony singing to the group and sings lead on a number of songs. \nSteve Riggs – Bass\nThere are a rare few bassists who have what Steve has. He has been the go-to bass player for roots\, blues\, and Rock & Roll bands since he began playing with The Charlottesville Blues Allstars at age 14. Touring nationally and internationally with the likes of guitar greats Tom Principato\, Evan Johns\, and Tinsley Ellis\, Steve has proven that laying down a fat low-end bed and locking in with the drummer is where it’s at. \nEddie Hall – Drums\nWith six decades of professional drumming under his belt\, Eddie has been the big beat behind numerous well-known acts including Dave Witt and Shenandoah\, Jimmy Fortune of Statler Brothers fame\, and countless regional and national touring bands. With a deep knowledge of American music and a spot-on meter\, Eddie lays the perfect foundation for The FireKings’ varied setlist.

One of the original members\, Mr. Steve Virts\, is first in the lineup\, along with a long time member and local legend Mr. Al Coffey\, aka the Swiss Army Musician. Rounding out this group is the newest member Mr. Charlie Reid\, one of the original and talented members of the group Stairwell. We enjoy performing many of your favorite songs\, adding our own unique twists with our strong vocals and harmonies. We are blessed with a number of original songs that have become favorites to many of our fans. We are not a dance band\, but if the urge hits you\, please feel free to do so. We like folks to grab a cool beverage and sit back and enjoy our music. Once again\, THANK YOU for supporting us over the past 40+ years. \nSpecial Thanks to the original Rarely Available Band formed in 1979 with Tim Caldwell\, Wayne Fulp and Steve Virts\, adding drummer Dave Hartman (current drummer for Southern Culture On The Skids) and bassist\, Dan Altic to complete the group in 1980. The very talented Brett Reynolds was later added as our drummer to fill Dave’s spot. This group continued performing for many years\, but stayed true to its name Rarely Available.
