SUMMARY:The Plate Scrapers + The Wilson Springs Hotel
DESCRIPTION:Thursday July 27th features TWO exceptional bands\nfor kicking off the 4-day FloydStock event!\n(Single-day & 4-day tickets are available! See each day’s line-up below.) \nTHURSDAY JULY 27th \n$40 Single-Day Pass \nTHE PLATE SCRAPERS (6:30 – 8:30pm) \nOriginated in 2014 in western Maryland the way any good bluegrass band does: from a bunch of fellers pickin’ around in a circle\, surrounded by delicious plates of food\, strong libations\, and good friends. The traditional spirit of The Plate Scrapers is still innately intact nearly 8 years later\, though they have evolved into far more than your average bluegrass band. Through diverse backgrounds and influences ranging from jazz\, to hard rock\, to funk\, the band has taken their music to an eclectic new level. \nTHE WILSON SPRINGS HOTEL (9 – 11pm) \nHailing from all parts of Virginia\, The Wilson Springs Hotel is rooted in country\, folk\, and bluegrass. They released their self-titled debut album in the fall of 2021\, and are set to tour throughout 2022. The music plays into the traditional roles within the genres\, but is also taken to a unique sound that simply is The Wilson Springs Hotel. New Grass\, Rockabilly\, Country Rock\, the list doesn’t really end. \nThe Wilson Springs Hotel are Jacob Ritter (lead vocals\, acoustic guitar)\, Victor McManus (electric guitar\, banjo)\, Brendan Boylan (fiddle)\, Sebastien Richard (bass)\, and Pat Bowdring (drums). \n*All ticket purchases are non-refundable* \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Single Day & 4 Day Passes available now.\nLimited quantity!\n \n Get Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n You will be redirected to a secure page for purchasing on Eventbrite. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Single Day & 4-Day Passes available now – limited quantity!\n \n Get Tickets\n \n \n \n \n \n You will be redirected to a secure page for purchasing on Eventbrite. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Full 4-Day Indoor Line-up at Dogtown Roadhouse\n(Single Day & 4-Day Passes available NOW – Limited Qty) \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ⇣ Thursday ⇣\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ⇣ Saturday ⇣\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ⇣ Friday ⇣\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n ⇣ Sunday ⇣\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Thursday\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Friday\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Saturday\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Sunday\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Outdoor Line-up at Warren G. SUMMARY:Dangermuffin + Abby Bryant & The Echoes + Strung Like a Horse
DESCRIPTION:Friday July 28th features THREE exceptional bands\non the 2nd day of our 4-day FloydStock event!\n(Single-day & 4-day tickets are available! See each day’s line-up below.) \nFRIDAY JULY 28th \n$75 Single-Day Pass \nSTRUNG LIKE A HORSE (2 – 3:30pm) \nSometime in 1983 a junkyard rocket shaped sperm crash-landed into a 1965 cadillac eldorado shaped egg (convertible of course) and nine months later\, give or take\, Clay Maselle horse-kicked his way into a world to which he would never belong. In time he discovered he was not alone. There were other hillbilly misfits living undercover all around him. A born leader\, he got four of them arrested for stealing yet another Cadillac–a hearse this time–and they became an inseparable unit. Seeing as how they weren’t employable they turned to the only thing all of them were actually good at… pickin’Several years and many thousands of miles later the strung like a horse outfit\, now a well-oiled machine\, gallops all around this great country. Don’t miss their signature Americana sound and fiery hot high-energy stage show. moonshine is optional but recommended. These junkyard dogs bring “honest\, playful\, headbangingly interactive fun” to any venue their rocket crashes. More at strunglikeahorse.com \nABBY BRYANT & THE ECHOES (4 – 6pm) \nA music minister’s daughter turned fierce frontwoman\, Abby Bryant has cemented her presence as a standout in Americana and soul with her band’s debut album Not Your Little Girl. The 13-track LP features Bryant’s raw vocal talent supported by the confident and dynamic backing group The Echoes and establishes a strong foundation for the band in the world of vintage-inspired Americana and soul rock. More at abbybryantandtheechoes.com \nDANGERMUFFIN (9 – 11pm) \nWhether in the studio or on stage\, Dangermuffin’s sound has always been conspicuously greater than the sum of its parts\, and to witness the band live is to question everything you know about the dynamics of sound. While your eyes perceive a trio\, your ears challenge that perception\, registering a much broader\, fuller\, and complex soundstage. In part\, this is due to Lotti’s clever technique of using the bass strings of his guitar to mimic the low end of an actual bass while concurrently playing rhythm\, but it’s as much due to Sivilli’s fluent\, poignant\, often soaring riffs\, and Sandifer’s creative\, jazzy\, and lively skins. Nowadays\, the band alternates between trio and quartet\, but this phenomenon was particularly evident in the early days\, when the band played exclusively as a threesome. DESCRIPTION:Saturday July 29th features THREE exceptional bands\non the 3rd day of our 4-day FloydStock event!\n(Single-day & 4-day tickets are available! See each day’s line-up below.) \nSATURDAY JULY 29th \n$100 Single-Day Pass \nTHE JARED STOUT BAND (1:30 – 3pm) \nFrom a cross country busking tour to opening for people like Blues Traveler\, Phil Vassar\, 38 Special\, Little River Band\, and Eric Paslay\, The Jared Stout Band has made leaps and bounds in just a short time. Looking to download the full bio\, discography\, and latest updates from The Jared Stout Band? The JSB is a media-savvy band who love to collaborate on a variety of projects\, and are always on the lookout for the next challenge. Be sure to check out their social media sites and online music/videos. More at thejaredstoutband.com \nTOUBAB KREWE (5:30 – 7:30pm) \nSome music cannot be found on a map or within iTunes categories. Some music is so original it seems snatched from the great\, invisible substrata that runs below all human activity\, a sound aching to be born without a flag or fixed allegiance – free\, questing\, overflowing with immediate\, tangible life. This is the music of Toubab Krewe\, the vibrant Asheville\, NC-based instrumental powerhouse that creates a sonic Pangaea that lustily swirls together rock\, African traditions\, jam sensibilities\, international folk strains and more. While nearly impossible to put into any box\, it takes only a few moments to realize in a very palpable way that one is face-to-face with a true original who recognizes no borders in a march towards a muscular\, original\, globally switched-on sound. SUMMARY:Josh Bennett Band
DESCRIPTION:$8 cover ~ \nFirst time show at Dogtown! \nEver since Josh Bennett Band formed a little over two years ago\, they made it their goal to spread love and great music far and wide. In doing this\, they have created a grassroots sound the majority of people have never heard before. With the instrumentation of many rock\, blues and funk collectives\, their band features electric guitar\, bass and drums. However\, what makes them special is their implementation of lead banjo into this mix. Arising the question: What genre is the Josh Bennett Band? They have heard opinions from southern rock to “funky bluegrass\,” but as long as people are filled with love and happiness from what they create- it is all in the eye of the beholder.

SUMMARY:Empty Bottles
DESCRIPTION:$10 cover ~ \nJoin us for our area’s premier Yacht Rock cover band! These guys are so fun\, you won’t want to miss it! \nEmpty Bottles began in 2014 as a guitar duo playing acoustic covers at an open mic at Roanoke’s Fork in the Market. In the first few years since its inception\, open mic host and piano wizard\, Ben Hite\, recognized some real chemistry with guitarist Joey Dennis and quickly jumped in\, offering up rich\, soulful vocals\, and a chameleonic approach to keys. It was not long before a rhythm section came together featuring chief groove maker\, Steele Whisnant on bass. \nIn 2017\, Hite’s cousin and Richmond native\, Matt Faszewski was added to the roster\, blending sax lines in as well as taking on many vocal parts\, and in 2020 Chad Hester took over the percussive torch\, adding yet another layer of harmony to the band’s dynamic vocals. \nThe 5 piece has settled into the role of the Valley’s premier Yacht Rock cover band. This sultry and soulful group will put the wind back in anyone’s sails with grooves from legends such as Kenny Loggins\, Hall and Oates\, and the Doobie Brothers. So grab yourself a dance parter and get ready to set sail on this smooth voyage.

After crossing paths with lead guitarist and vocalist\, Daniel Jackson in 2015\, the Loose Change was born. SUMMARY:Mallow Hill
DESCRIPTION:$8 cover ~ \nDon’t miss this first time performance on our stage! \nMallow Hill isn’t just the street in Baltimore\, MD where founder\, songwriter\, guitarist Danny Gwinn grew up dreaming of leading his own band\, it’s now the name of his band\, Mallow Hill\, marking the beginning of that dream coming true. With a fusion of rock\, soul\, funk\, blues\, and classic rock feel\, the band is gearing up to release their debut album Love Me Good later this year. \n“Having a band named Mallow Hill was always the dream\,” says Gwinn. “I grew up on that street and learned to play guitar there.” Mallow Hill has been a long time in the making for Gwinn since he started playing guitar at 11 years old with his good friend Spencer Mills. “He turned me on to the greats like Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix\,” the now 26-year-old Gwinn says. “We spent years self-teaching each other to play.” Even though they came close to starting a band together\, along with now Mallow Hill members bassist Travis Earley (whom he met through Mills) and keyboardist Mac Dignam (whom he met through mutual friends)\, it wasn’t meant to be. Their paths lead them in separate directions when they attended different universities. \nGwinn majored in entrepreneurship but when he left college in 2015\, he enrolled in an audio engineering program at Omega Studios in Rockville\, MD studying with well-known industry professionals including three-time Grammy-Award winner Pete Novak\, Jim Curtis (Radiohead\, Lou Reed\, Third Eye Blind)\, Bill Mueller (Red Hot Chili Peppers\, Coldplay)\, and Scotty O’Toole ( Aretha Franklin\, O.A.R\, Fall Out Boy). There he threw himself into learning the studio side of the business. “I got pretty good at the buttons and working the technology but soon realized I lacked the musical knowledge to really excel.” So\, he decided to learn more about music theory\, studying classical and jazz guitar. “I took that time to really develop my style and guitar playing.” When Covid hit\, he began doing less in the studio\, and felt that now was his time to get a band together. \nHe met back up with Mills\, called up Dignam and Earley\, then brought on drummer John Menefee\, but they needed a stellar vocalist. Enter Mikayla Joseph. Once they met her Gwinn knew she was the one and that day they officially became Mallow Hill. “I remember her just walking into the room and knowing this was going to work really well\,” says Gwinn. “We were all very impressed with her raw talent and voice but also with how laid back she was.” One year later\, in May 2021\, they recorded and released their first EP. Shortly after\, Mills left the band to focus on a different career path but now the quintet has an album’s worth of songs in hand.\nRecorded at The Moose House in Baltimore\, album stand outs include the soulful title track “Love Me Good\,” a classic young love story about a mismatched couple who always fight and make up but ultimately break up. It showcases Joseph’s sultry vocals to match the hypnotic rhythm. “One More Time” with its hard stops and pauses mimics the songs meaning about the nuances of flirting with someone for the first time.  It was one of the first songs that Mikayla wrote to one of Gwinn’s guitar parts.  “Keep Me Up\,” a crowd favorite about keeping the party going\, has a gritty classic rock vibe with a guitar solo to boot. “The Jam” is a funky track named after a club Joseph and her coworkers would visit to let off some steam and listen to live music while working at a weed farm called “Murder Mountain” in Humboldt County\, CA. \nCovid allowed the band the opportunity to really bond and get their sound just right. “While the world stood still\, being together helped solidify the relationship we have with each other both on and off the stage\,” says Gwinn. And it shows. With their new music in hand\, Mallow Hill is looking ahead\, hoping to play these songs to as people as they can all while having a good time along the way. “We’re just excited to keep this going and having our music connect with as many people as possible.” Music is their passion and if that can translate to the listeners and their audience\, that that will keep them very happy for a long time.

SUMMARY:Kendall Street Company
DESCRIPTION:**Ticket Event** \nTable tickets available. GA ticket early bird pricing through 10/19 at 11:59pm \nKendall Street Company on our stage for the very first time – don’t miss what is guaranteed to be an EPIC\, wild night! \nVirginia’s Kendall Street Company are no strangers to having a wild time. The genre-fluid\, eclectic rock ensemble has drawn varied comparisons to the dynamic jams of Umphrey’s McGee and Widespread Panic\, songwriting of John Prine\, experimental psychedelia of Pink Floyd\, progressive jazz-infused rock of Frank Zappa\, and off-color humor of Ween and They Might Be Giants. Including elements of crowd participation\, off-the-cuff comedic bits\, haphazard choreography\, musical improvisation\, and surprise musical guests\, each Kendall Street Company concert is an experience unlike any other. You’ll laugh\, you’ll cry. Just remember to stay hydrated. \nIn addition to their reputation as must-see live performers\, the Company’s prolific immunity to writer’s block has led them to release over over 100 original songs between 13 releases over a period of just 6 years\, with much more to come in 2023. You can also find a massive selection of live shows on nugs.net\, which often include unreleased and improvised tracks\, as well as covers ranging from the Grateful Dead to DEVO to Alanis Morisette to Soulja Boy. They have performed at festivals including Lockn’\, Summer Camp\, High Sierra\, Resonance\, Floydfest\, Some Kind of Jam\, and Rooster Walk\, and have shared a stage with Goose\, Umphrey’s McGee\, Papadosio\, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong\, Leftover Salmon\, the Infamous Stringdusters\, Big Something and Melvin Seals & JGB. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n **Ticket Event** \nTable tickets available. SUMMARY:The Parachute Brigade
DESCRIPTION:$5 cover ~ \nWe are thrilled to have this group back to our stage! The Parachute Brigade consists of six individuals with very different musical backgrounds coming together to create music that they love. \nTheir style can be described as Indie Rock meets Folk meets Pop Rock with influences from all across the board. Their sound is driven by infectious melodies and haunting vocal harmonies that are accompanied by lush guitars\, interesting textures\, and commanding drums. \nIn 2018\, they were voted “best band in WV” by West Virginia Living Magazine\, and in that same year they were honored to perform on Mountain Stage Radio Show\, which is distributed by NPR Music. \nThe band started in the summer of 2012 as an acoustic\, harmony driven quartet\, but their sound quickly evolved into what it is today. However\, they still have the ability to go from smaller\, intimate settings to louder concert experiences. \nWhichever way you see them live\, they always deliver every performance with heart and soul and leave you wanting more.
