SUMMARY:Will Easter & The Nomads
DESCRIPTION:$8 cover ~ \nGrowing up in Stokes County in another NC “high country” of the Sauratown Mountains\, Will Easter got his musical and life inspiration from a couple of powerful sources: his family and his surroundings. His family instilled in him an unwavering work ethic; his surroundings impressed on him an appreciation for the beauty of the land. Both of these are frequent tropes he draws upon in his songwriting. After moving to Boone and graduating from Appalachian State University\, Will adopted the Blue Ridge as his new home. Since then\, he has become a fixture in the music scene from the mountains to the piedmont\, and beyond. Moreover\, he has shared the spotlight with some notable folk legends\, the likes of which include Jim Avett\, David Childers\, and Rhonda Vincent. \nWill Easter has one of those voices that is like a home-cooked meal for the soul. Maybe it’s a bit rough around the edges\, but that’s what makes it so believable\, so relatable\, so impactful. Will has the cool throwback rock edge of Tom Petty with the modern folk-Americana appeal of the Avett Brothers\, but with something hard to put your finger on that could only be born out of the shadows and peaks of the North Carolina mountains. One iteration through a chorus and you’ll find yourself humming along\, by the second time around you’ll be singing out loud\, ready to hit the repeat button. Having said all that\, where Will greatly excels is as a songwriter; he has a knack for capturing the reality of the human condition – the ugly and the beautiful\, the mundane and the profound – and drawing meaning from those experiences. \n– Jones House Culture and Community Center

SUMMARY:Into the Fog on St. Patrick's Day!
DESCRIPTION:$10 cover ~ \nJoin us for a special party night on St. Patrick’s Day with Into The Fog! \nWinners of the 2021 MerleFest Band Competition\, Into The Fog is a genre-jumping string band based out of Raleigh\, North Carolina. With its members having various backgrounds ranging from bluegrass\, country\, rock\, to funk\, Into The Fog creates a musical melting pot of sounds in an acoustic/newgrass setting. The band is made up of Brian Stephenson(Acoustic guitar\, Vocals)\, Winston Mitchell(Mandolin\, Vocals)\, Derek Lane(Bass\, Vocals) and Connor Kozlosky (Electric guitar\, Vocals). \nOriginally formed in Wilmington\, NC\, Into The Fog immediately hit the ground running as a band by heading across the country to compete at the 2018 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition only a few months after coming together. That cross country trip was recorded by friend of the band and videographer Mason Godwin in his documentary Band #7:The Ride to Telluride. \nAfter the Telluride trip\, the band got to work playing as much as they could around North Carolina. Becoming a mainstay at over 30 different breweries around the state Into The Fog started to quickly make a name for themselves. Then in November of 2018 the band went to a cabin outside of Waynesville\, NC and spent a week recording their debut album Wishin’ It Would Rain\, which was released on February 22\, 2019.\n“The trio crafts a dynamic mix of songs and sounds\, from the gypsy feel of “Caawphonation” to the running-from-Johnny-Law feel of instrumental “Cedar Island Rendezvous.”- Brian Tucker(Star News) \nWith their debut album under their belt Into The Fog started to pick up momentum exchanging brewery gigs for music venues and festivals with opportunities like playing Shakori Hills\, Rooster Walk\, FloydFest\, MerleFest\, NC Homegrown Music Festival\, IBMA\, and Front Porch Fest along with opening slots for national touring acts Sam Bush\, Ghost of Paul Revere\, Jon Stickley Trio\, Keller & The Keels and Town Mountain. Into The Fog solidified their sound further with their 14 track sophomore album Runnin’ Blind and Chasin’ Time which was released in May of 2021.\n“While purists might label label their sound as Newgrass\, those in attendance respond to the gospel they are preaching and seem perfectly content with the foggy genre\, since the sound is so clear”- Donna Davis(The Daily Reflector)

SUMMARY:Disco Risqué
DESCRIPTION:$10 cover ~ \nDisco Risqué\, known affectionately amongst their fans as “DR\,” was formed in 2014 by longtime friends Charlie Murchie (lead guitar) and Robert Prescott (drums & vocals). In subsequent years Ryan Calonder (trumpet\, rhythm guitar\, lead vocals) Andrew Hollifield (Bass) and Sean Hodge (keys) were added to the lineup yielding what is now a full fledged high energy progressive pop-funk rock band whose aggressive riffs\, danceable beats and catchy lyrics can take any listener to a sonic party in their minds. \nThis polished musical experience has been working hard to bring you fat tracks and rockin shows with their latest release “D3P” and their frequent touring schedule. Recently performing up and down the east coast\, from Georgia to New Hampshire\, DR is committed to bringing a top of the line professional funky rock n roll dance party to anywhere music can be heard. Looking towards the future the band is excited for the forthcoming release of the long anticipated album\, “Joke Squad\,” an instrumental LP with exciting compositions and melodic riffs that toes the line between metal\, jazz\, funk and dance described by a friend of the band as “Tool on cocaine.” \nDisco Risqué’s growth as a band is more apparent in their studio recordings than anywhere else. 2016’s eponymous debut album was a smorgasbord of musical offerings giving a little bit of everything the band had to offer\, 2018’s If You Don’t Like Hits was a pop funk focused LP\, and 2021’s D3P showed the band’s growth as a full fledged studio band. However\, while the sound has grown over the years\, the shows have remained raucous and ruthless making sure that while new room is made for new viewers the old school and original flair of Disco Risqué is alive and well on stages across the country. As always…come get some.

SUMMARY:Kevin Daniel & The Bottom Line
DESCRIPTION:$8 cover ~ \nA dynamic performer\, playing 100-150 shows per year\, Kevin Daniel’s music has been described as “radio and TV ready with enough darkness creeping in around the edges to appeal to fans of Jason Isbell & Langhorne Slim.” On his two early EPs\, his 2019 debut album Things I Don’t See\, and his 2021 follow-up\, Been Here Before\, Daniel showcases a masterful ability as a songwriter to seamlessly incorporate bits of rock\, soul\, country\, blues\, roots and Appalachia into thoughtful examination of pain and awakenings\, visceral and spiritual. The band is already well on their way to achieving their goal after starting\nthe year with a 30-date Winter/Spring Tour in which the young trio performed at well-known\nvenues such as Brooklyn Bowl\, Cafe Wha?\, and The Westcott Theater. Baked Shrimp is\nconstantly turning heads and has moved from “Long Island’s best kept secret” to the hardest\nworking band in the business\, a secret impossible to keep.
