SUMMARY:Freak Rangers
DESCRIPTION:Free show ~ \nFreak Rangers is finding the groove from the past and taking it further. Jay Gladden and Matt Leonard join Bradley Carr\, Timbo Sims and John McBroom to continue the journey that Red Weather started in the early ‘90s. We look forward to more Homespun Psychedelic Fun!!!!!! \nSOME BAND HISTORY \nThree-fifths of the Freak Rangers come from a band named Red Weather; Bradley\, John and Timbo. Red Weather toured from 1993 to 1999 and released 3 projects before coming off the road and played occasionally till the passing of drummer Thomas Wilson in 2015. Since then the three have played together in a few other projects and sat-in a lot with each other’s more recent projects. \nOver the last decade they talked a lot about bringing Red Weather’s music back\, but life always seemed to lead to other opportunities. Well\, with a little coaxing and a lot of intent the three primary writers of Red Weather have reunited to play and see what happens. They are only able to undergo such a daring adventure with their new bandmates and rhythm section\, Jay Gladden and Matt Leonard.

DESCRIPTION:**Get your tickets** \n$15 (+fees) advance online  // $20 (+fees) day of show at the door \nDoors: 7pm || Show: 8pm \n“Their shows are high energy and driven – powerful affairs that carry the audience through a full-range of emotions and often force the fans to look inward throughout – while still filling the building with love\, acceptance\, and hope.” \n-Caleb Calhoun Ashvegas.com \nEmpire Strikes Brass is a dynamic BrassFunkRock band hailing from Asheville\, North Carolina. Their music resonates with a powerful message delivered through a captivating and larger-than-life sound. Fueled by a thumping rhythm section that sets the groove\, the band’s rich horn arrangements\, performed by a robust horn section\, add an extra layer of depth to both their original compositions and compelling covers\, showcasing the evolution of ESB. \nFormed in 2012\, Empire Strikes Brass started as a group of friends who loved playing New Orleans-inspired second-line and funk tunes infused with elements of rock and jam. Over time\, they have transformed into a collective of incredibly talented musicians\, singers\, songwriters\, and producers. The result is a fresh and authentic sound that seamlessly combines their diverse musical influences while staying true to their roots. \nThe band boasts a remarkable lineup of artists\, each bringing their own unique contribution to the table. From the rich vocals\, and harmonious saxophone of Grammy Award-winning artist Debrissa McKinney (known for her work with Secret Agent 23 Skidoo) to the masterful keyboard and production skills of Lenny Pettinelli\, the thunderous beats of drummer Nik Hope\, the solid bass lines of JP Furnas\, the melodic guitar riffs of Chris Porter\, the soulful trumpet sounds of Alex Bradley\, and the sky high notes of Tim Morgan on trumpet\, the smooth trombone of Jacob Bruner\, the vibrant saxophone of Pauly Juhl\, and the versatile keyboard and percussion talents of Sean Donnelly\, every member of ESB plays a crucial role in the band’s success. \nSince their inception\, Empire Strikes Brass has become a staple at various festivals across the USA\, leaving a lasting impression with their infectious energy and electrifying performances. Their horn section has also had the honor of sharing the stage with esteemed acts like Shpongle Live Band\, Umphrey’s McGee\, Papadosio\, and many more iconic names in the funk and jam scene. \nWhether performing live or working on their studio recordings\, Empire Strikes Brass emanates a strength and cohesiveness that is undeniable. Their debut album\, “Theme For A Celebration\,” was recorded at the renowned Echo Mountain Recording Studio in Asheville and received acclaim as one of the top 100 releases of the year by WNCW 88.7 radio in 2017. Following that success\, their fierce follow-up release\, “Brassterpiece Theatre” (2019)\, was also recorded at Echo\, showcasing their continued growth and artistic prowess. Both albums are available on all major music distribution\, streaming\, sales\, and listening platforms\, allowing listeners to experience the band’s exceptional musicality. \nAs they continue to tour and captivate audiences\, Empire Strikes Brass is diligently working on their highly anticipated third studio album. Between shows\, they are crafting and mastering new sounds that will undoubtedly leave their fans craving for more. Keep an eye out for this remarkable band on the road and at festivals near you. Their unforgettable performances are not to be missed. \n**Get your tickets** \n$15 (+fees) advance online  // $20 (+fees) day of show at the door \nDoors: 7pm || Show: 8pm \nTickets are non-refundable. SUMMARY:Hackensaw Boys
DESCRIPTION:**TICKET SHOW** \nGA advance discount\, online only through 9/4: $20 (+fees\, included in price) \nGA day of show\, door only: $25 (+fees\, included in price) \n*Table tickets available* at special pricing \nDoors: 7pm || Show: 8pm \n8PM – OPENER: COREY HUNLEY & MATT POWELL \nCorey Hunley & Matt Powell are an acoustic duo with a musical history that spans hundreds of shows. These singer-songwriters blend a deep catalog of original music with covers from legendary artists like The Beatles\, John Prine\, and Johnny Cash. Their sound is rooted in classic rock and folk\, promising a setlist that’s both familiar and uniquely their own. \n9PM – HACKENSAW BOYS \nRoots music shapeshifters Hackensaw Boys have been making audiences holler and dance since way back in 1999. Formed in Charlottesville and now based in Lynchburg\, Virginia\, this hard traveling group has built an international following for their high-energy performances and down-to-earth presentation. Despite their roots in traditional music\, their homegrown aesthetic (bolstered by the “charismo\,” their calling card percussion instrument handmade from cans and other metal objects) belies their contemporary approach to songcraft and showmanship. Hackensaw Boys’ music today has just as much in common with the straight-ahead sound of the Del McCoury Band as it does with the indie rock of Pavement and the modern folk of the Avett Brothers and Mountain Goats. Their most recent LPs merge an old timey sonic palette with a folk-punk sensibility\, with poignant lyricism\, focused arrangements\, and a deep groove all held together by bluegrass chops. Coming out swinging after the pandemic release of A Fireproof House Of Sunshine and 2022’s Hackensaw Boys\, they’ve brought this sound on tour dates all across the US\, Canada\, and Europe\, including appearances at ROMP Music Festival\, Paaspop (Netherlands)\, and Tønder Festival (Denmark). \nHackensaw Boys are currently gearing up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of one of their most beloved albums. Love What You Do was released in August 2005 on Nettwerk Records. Compiled from sessions that took place in Charlottesville\, San Francisco\, and Amsterdam amid constant touring\, so many of its cuts remain fan favorites to this day. “Sun’s Work Undone” and “Alabama Shamrock” showcase the band’s more delicate side with spacious instrumentation and enigmatic lyrics about love and longing. “Kiss You Down There” still gets requested at virtually every show\, and “We Are Many” continues to be perfect fodder for the group’s electrifying encores. The latter\, with its foot-stomping rhythm and shout-along chorus\, has come to exemplify what many people love most about seeing the band live: that a Hackensaw Boys show isn’t a bluegrass show\, it’s a rock and roll show played on banjo and fiddle with all the spirit of a hoedown. \n**TICKET SHOW** \nGA advance discount\, online only through 9/4: $20 (+fees\, included in price) \nGA day of show\, door only: $25 (+fees\, included in price) \n*Table tickets available* at at special pricing \nDoors: 7pm || Show: 8pm \nTickets are non-refundable. SUMMARY:Dr. Bacon w/ St. Vith
DESCRIPTION:**TICKET SHOW** (see below for more info) \nWe are THRILLED to welcome Dr. Bacon to our stage for the very first time along with St. Vith! Check out their info\, mark your calendars\, and join us for a fun night of incredible music! \nDR. BACON is a 6 Piece touring Appalachian Funk\, Grass and Rock & Roll band. Blending incredibly diverse instrumentation with broad\, deep musical influences\, allows the band to perform a plethora of widely accessible\, danceable music.\nThe Dr. Bacon Live Experience is truly a spectacle to behold\, bringing the audience on a musical journey that lulls and spikes in energy\, caressing ears with lush beauty and whipping crowds into a tribal romp\, shaking booties and shedding inhibitions. Dr. Bacon started playing together in 2012 on King Street in Boone as a 3 piece busking with acoustic bluegrass\, folk\, and 90s pop/rock/hip-hop influenced music. VITH is an eclectic indie rock band based in the Finger Lakes region in New York. Comprised of members Oliver Burdo\, Kyle Ingersoll\, Quintin Olix and Jordan Seager. The group creates original psychedelic indie rock music by drawing from a diverse array of influences including Wilco\, Radiohead and Animal Collective. SUMMARY:The Deer Run Drifters
DESCRIPTION:Free show ~. \nThe Deer Run Drifters are back on the scene\, and we’re THRILLED to have them return to our stage!! \nTHE DEER RUN DRIFTERS \nWhat happens when two small-town musicians with a guitar\, a banjo\, and a whole lot of heart hit the streets of Floyd\, Virginia? If you’re Chris Link and Shane Edgell\, you turn a handful of curious listeners into lifelong fans\, sparking the rise of one of Americana music’s most authentic bands: The Deer Run Drifters. \nFrom their humble beginnings busking on street corners in 2011 to the makeshift stage of the first-ever Talford Rodeo in 2012\, the band quickly became a regional sensation. With Chris and Shane joined by Joe Link on mandolin\, Sean Edgell on guitar and harmonica\, and Will Norton holding down the bass\, The Deer Run Drifters carved out their place in the Americana scene. \nBy 2015\, the band had logged over 200 shows along the East Coast\, a US tour through the west\, played every dive bar the midwest had to offer\, and released two albums that captured the raw\, honest spirit of their music. Their debut\, Appalachian Blues\, earned acclaim for its tales of heartbreak and hardship\, wrapped in weathered lyrics and haunting instrumentals. Their follow-up\, Restless Youth\, added electric energy and a touch of rock\, showcasing a band unafraid to evolve. \nBut the road takes its toll. After completing their 2015 U.S. tour\, the Drifters disbanded\, stepping away to focus on family\, heal from the demands of the music industry\, and let time work its magic. \nNow\, more than a decade later\, The Deer Run Drifters are back. With a new lineup\, a renewed sense of purpose\, and fresh songs that embrace their traditional roots\, the band is ready to rekindle their connection with fans. Adding Roanoke native Geoff White on old-time fiddle\, and rowdy Floydian Josh Penn on percussion\, they’re doubling down on the grit and authenticity that made them a standout name in Americana music. \nThe band’s comeback isn’t just a fleeting reunion—it’s a full-fledged revival. They’re kicking off 2025 with a string of shows\, leading into festival season\, and—rumor has it—working on new music. Fans can expect the same soul-stirring lyrics\, dynamic instrumentals\, and storytelling charm\, now infused with the wisdom and growth of a decade away from the spotlight. \nThe Deer Run Drifters are ready to reclaim their place in the Americana music scene\, proving that some fires never burn out—they just need time to smolder before roaring back to life. \nFollow the band on social media (@TheDeerRunDrifters) and prepare for a year of unforgettable performances. This is one comeback story you won’t want to miss.
